The key focus of our integration development is to seamlessly “BRIDGE” these critical remote applications back to the corporate offices.

Mr. Jack Wei, Director of Business Development with Auto Telecom states, “This development provides a unified communications solution by bridging remote field workers to main office departments. Communications is immediate and seamless which results in better response times to emergencies and requests in both directions. The Radio Trunk Unit interface brings together back office and field operations into a single unit which increases productivity and reduces response time. For organizations using mobile radios this platform is the best total solution available and far more cost effective than individual systems.”

For example, in emergency rescue situations, the commanding officer at the Rescue Command Center can use a desk phone to direct the field rescue operations personnel who use hand help radios in the field. A single commanding headquarters makes the communication more effective and controls the optimum time for rescue.

For fleet management, including commercial motor vehicles such as cars, vans and trucks, as well as rail cars, DSS keys can be set up on office telephones for different channels, groups, and single-button access to different extension numbers for quick and convenient headquarters-to-field communications.

For shopping centers, restaurants, hotels, amusement parks, campuses, manufacturing plants, and any common areas where security guards are stationed, workers at the office can use desk phones to easily contact customer service staff, who are also able to use radios to communicate between each other, to call the office via desk phones, or to directly dial stations located within the command center or main office.

FEATURES

Office to radio or radio “group” calling

Radios directly call office digital phones or call the designated extension number via Auto Attendant

Seamlessly automatic voice detection call

Support monitoring and recording of wireless channels

Support RoIP (Radio over IP) communication

APPLICATIONS

shopping centers, restaurants, hotels, campuses, manufacturing plants, construction sites, mine sites, tunnels, amusement parks, rescue centers, military police units, airports, stations, rapid-transit systems and fleet management, and more.

IP38-61 VOIP Solution enables remote communications capabilities

The IP38-61 is a dynamic and next generation SIP based VOIP telephone instrument specially designed for the TDS/G1E+M Series IP System.

By deploying the IP38-61, you gain the benefit of “unifying” all your remote operations into a single system. You may have a warehouse several miles away with the need for 5 telephones. Instead of installing a separate system there, with it’s own lines and voice mail system, you can leverage the technology advances of Transtel by implementing VoIP based IP38-61 telephones at the remote location.

The remote IP38-61 telephones operate seamlessly as directly connected devices offering one touch station to station dialing, voice mail boxes from main office system, ability to use local lines for outward calling purposes. These phones can be paged and dialed directly from the automated attendant located in the main system!

Travelers to remote locations can benefit from the use of the IP38-61. Just plug the phone into any internet connection located any where in the world and you have immediate office communications as if you were back at the home office! Call others in the office, answer calls or receive transferred calls. The audio quality is outstanding and customers will not be able to tell if you are in the office or traveling abroad. With the IP38-61, it’s business as usual, no matter where you are located.

If your company would like to offer extended customer service hours over different time zones, implementing the IP38-61 is the perfect solution. Simply set up your incoming lines to ring IP38-61 telephones after normal working hours in your main location. In this way you will be able to extend your hours of operation automatically.

TransTel’s IP38-61 telephone coupled with the TDS/G1E +M IP Platform saves money in both equipment and long distance costs. It allows organizations of all sizes the ability to “unify” operations by providing a single system to all employees over an IP based infrastructure.

Live Call Recording

We are very pleased to inform you of a revolutionary feature. It is the built-in Live Call Recording function. This function is specifically intended for individuals and small businesses who frequently need to listen to their own calls or who need to record for business risk protection, verbal contract verification, proof and dispute resolution purposes.

Speaking of call recording, people are used to utilize an external recorder. Most of the external recorders are expensive and complicated. For those who do not want to spend extra money and who need just easy recording, our telephone system is a good choice to meet their requirement.

When developing the Live Call Recording, we focused on making it easy to operate. To start, stop and play of a recording is as simple as pressing a button on the phone. The operation has two ways: to do it manually or automatically.

BlueTooth 2.0 For DK6-21BT

The DK6-21BT phone is now released with Bluetooth 2.0 as standard. Trials of this phone have shown a big improvement in Bluetooth performance and functionality over the previous V1.1 and 1.2 used in most earlier devices.

One of the issues with Bluetooth has been an inconsistency with pairing and switching and V2.0 is better in this regard.

There are 2 ways of using Bluetooth headsets on the Hybrex system.
You can set the phone to auto answer and ALL calls to the extension will be auto answered after a brief tone. The advantage of this is not having to press the answer button when the phone beeps. The disadvantage is not being able to control when you answer the phone including being in inappropriate places when the phone rings (need I say more). Another disadvantage is the Headset is continuously on so battery life is an issue.

The other method is to have the headset on Manual answer and press the answer button on the headset when you hear the beeping in the headset. With Bluetooth 2.0 this is the best method as the increased reliability of V2.0 means very few problems with answering calls if any.

For a receptionist handling many calls this is the best option allowing control of answer and allowing the easy disposal of existing calls before having to answer the next and also an increase in Battery life.

DUET Feature for G1E

We have developed a software feature for the G1E to support the network feature DUET.
For those not familiar with DUET it allows 2 different phone numbers to exist on the one line each with its own distinctive ring Cadence.
DUET was originally designed to allow a Fax and phone to exist on the same line and there are many Fax machines on the market which can distinguish between the Fax and phone ring and answer a Fax call but let the phone calls ring the parallel phone.

The other use for Duet is to allow a single line to have both a home and a business number and the user can answer appropriately by listening to the Ring signal.

Currently available for trial is a software version for the G1E that allows the system to do this and ring the appropriate extensions depending on which ring cadence is received.

The software is not standard yet and so any dealer who wished to trial it can either order a G1E specifically with trial software or upgrade an existing site.

New DK-DPU1 Doorphone

All DK-DPU door phones are now equipped with the new AKM chip to provide enhanced versatility and options. The major new feature is the ability to change the volume and MIC settings from another digital phone. This feature is available on the G1E and GDS systems.

The method of altering volume is different for G1E and GDS systems.

On the G1E a digital phone while it is talking to the DPU presses SPD PRG 6 and then uses either 2 or 6 to select Speaker or Mic and can then adjust the Volume up or down using the Digital phones volume control.

On the GDS the Digital phone presses PRG and the Volume key and then selects 1 or 2 to select speaker or Mic and then uses its own volume control to adjust the DK-DPU volume.

All DK-DPU units shipping now are the new version.

IP Stations for GDS available for Trial Deployment.

As Hybrex dealers who are interested in VoIP would be aware there has in the recent past been mention of the coming availability of VoIP extensions for Hybrex equipment.

We are now happy to announce that stage I of IP extension functionality is available for GDS systems. IP extension functionality allows VoIP telephones to be deployed remotely to the parent GDS anywhere there is a broadband Internet or intranet connection available subject to possible firewall restrictions. These VoIP phones then function as a GDS system extension in the true sense of extension behavior. For example such VoIP extensions can be placed in ring groups, intercom other extensions, receive, make, and/or transfer calls via the GDS trunks or to other extensions, access and use the voicemail facility for their extension number, in fact all the normal things an extension can do. The one caveat at present is that, since the new Hybrex VoIP phone isn’t ready for release yet, the VoIP phones being employed behave in the same way as an SLT or analogue system extension.

The base for this IP extension setup is a new variant of the VIU platform card called the G2-ISU3/24 which is fitted in a trunk slot position in a GDS 80 port or 40 port cabinet.

Each G2-ISU3 fitted can support up to 8 VoIP extension phones, with 3 codec channels available – meaning max 3 concurrent calls per card. A special case exists where if a G2-
ISU3 is fitted in the last trunk slot in a GDS 80 port cab, and there is no PRI card fitted in that cab, then that ISU3 can support up to 24 VoIP extension phones.

For use as extension phones the currently defined and supported items are the Snom300 and Snom320 VoIP hardphones and the free SJphone softphone. The Snom phones have been chosen for their interoperability, extensive programmability (multiple lines etc), and style; the 300 is the economy phone and the 320 useful for executive placement. An ATA in the form of the Linksys SPA3102 is also defined for special uses. Wifi IP phones are also useable (with some model constraints) but currently undocumented. The defined and supported modem-router for ISU3 installs is a Draytek Vigor in the 2700e or 2800 series.

This technology represents a large step forward for Hybrex GDS functionality and Dealer familiarity with the setups, methods, and advantages of “remote” IP extensions is strongly recommended.

TransTel Systems Win FAA Contract

In early 2005 the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) went through an evaluation process in the Central US Region looking for a solution that could provide a solid Communications Platform for Air Traffic Control Towers and supporting offices. After extensive investigation of the products available and the solutions offered the FAA selected the TransTel TDS series PBX. This was due to the functionality and reliability of the TDS platform and the fact that TransTel was willing to design some special features and capabilities that the FAA required.

TransTel's President Joe Morris states “Working with our dealer Key Telecommunications Solutions and the FAA has been a really terrific project. The FAA presented us with some real needs and requirements and we have taken the time to develop them for the FAA. An Air Traffic Control Tower here in the USA has some unique characteristics which we were happy to accommodate the FAA with.

Backlit displays for the air traffic control tower, a thoughtful default database program suitable for FAA installations and some specialty tweaking for some tenanting requirements have helped to go a long way in the relationship. The overall objective of the FAA is to provide reliability for all installations and to allow for an efficient cost factor for each site. The TransTel TDS Series have delivered on both fronts. Our dealer goes the extra mile when installing these systems by putting in place state of the art power and lightening protection.

Many of the sites to date have never had failures at all based primarily upon the care taken at installation. As we look back to the installations already in place we are all proud of the performance of the systems and overall project.”

After a rigorous set of field trails the FAA have approved the TransTel TDS PBX system as their standard “mission critical” platform for FAA Air Traffic Control Towers within the Central Region. Over the last three years TransTel Systems have been installed in other Air Traffic Control Towers along with supporting office locations, each and every solution had the commitment and support of the TransTel Team.

Features of Fidelio PMS on GDS

As hotel operations take place throughout the property, there is an automatic exchange of information between the Micros PMS and the GDS/TDS 600 Series Telephone System. For example, front desk staff will use their PC to check a guest in to a room. Upon doing so, the PMS system will send a series of commands to the telephone system that will result in the following taking place:

Check In

Room phone is turned on, toll restriction removed
Voice mailbox enabled and old messages from previous guest are purged
Name for guest is assigned to his room number so when he calls for services staff can answer with his personal name. The calling name appears on the LCD of staff telephones.

Check Out

Room phone is turned off, toll restriction applied
Voice mail messages are retained until a new guest is Checked-In to the same room.
The room clean status will be set to Dirty and Vacant.

Guest Room Move

This operation will Check-Out the old room and Check-In in to the new room location
Old room telephone is turned off, toll restriction is applied
New room telephone is turned on, toll restriction removed
Wake up calls are transferred
Do not disturb status is transferred

Guest Voice Mail Status

When station has a new voice mail message; telephone system will inform PMS system.
After station listens to voice messages and deletes them; telephone system will also inform PMS system to remove its record.
Front desk will have a view of the number of voice messages in each guests mailbox
If front desk staff is talking to guest on an outside line or internally, they can quickly and efficiently transfer guest to the mailbox by using the transfer to mailbox feature in the telephone system.

Room DND Status

When guest sets his room status as DND (Do Not Disturb) or removes its DND status the telephone system will inform PMS system.
PMS system can also enable or disable the DND room status; it will inform telephone system to behave accordingly.

Room Clean Status

Maid Service can set the room status by dialing a code from the room telephone. The status includes:
1= Dirty Vacant. 2=Dirty Occupied 3=Clean Vacant 4=Clean Occupied. 5= Inspect Vacant 6 = Inspect Occupied
PMS system can set the same status and cause an appropriate change in the telephone system.

Wake-up Service

Guests can enable or disable wake up service by using the room telephone.
PMS system can perform the same function and the telephone system will act accordingly.
When guest answers the wake up call, telephone system will inform PMS system.

Room Mini-bar POS (Point of Sale) Information

Maid Service can use the room telephone to inform the PMS system what article and its quantity that guest had consumed from the mini bar.
There is no need to make a special trip and manually enter this information.

Telephone Call Accounting Information

Telephone system will send the detail call message to the PMS system, such as the dialed digits, start date & time and total call duration. When an emergency happens in the guest room, the guest will make an emergency call immediately. However, they probably may forget to mention their room numbers. This will delay the life-saving service. In order to solve this problem and provide a safety service to the Lodging Industry, we have add this feature in our GDS/TDS system and it benefits many Hotel/Motels which install our systems. The GDS 600 is able to be programmed with the emergency code of any country in which it has been installed.

When a guest room lifts the handset, accesses an outside line and dials the emergency code the system will simultaneously ring ALL telephone sets in the operator group. At the same time the call is processed to the emergency operator on a trunk line. A voice announcement will be played indicating this is an emergency call along with the room number. This provides the emergency operator with the exact location of the emergency to dispatch required services. When any telephone within the operator group answers the emergency call the message will stop.

Fidelio PMS Compatibility

Auto Telecom (Taiwan) and TransTel Communications (USA) announce the achievement of compatibility and certification between its Hospitality Telecommunications Systems GDS/TDS-600 Series and the Micros Opera and Fidelio PMS interfaces.

Micros (www.micros.com) is one of worlds largest providers of software reservations systems to the lodging industry, with many Hotel chains and property management companies choosing Micros as their solution.

Having developed the GDS/TDS 600 Hospitality Series to be compatible with Micros opens the doors for many of our partners worldwide.
